Dalarna is a landscape in the central Swedish region of Svealand. Dalarna is surrounded by Härjedalen, Hälsingland, Gästrikland, Västmanland and Värmland, and is connected to Norway in the west. The name Dalarna means “the valleys”, which can also often be seen in the landscape. The inhabitants like to stick to ancient traditions. In the west, some residents still talk the old dialect.
